Below you can find course locations, a GAMSAT science syllabus, and course schedules for students wishing to purchase our Gold Standard GAMSAT Science Problem-based Learning Course. If you wish to choose to attend for just one day ($199), or if you wish to bundle this 3-day science PBL course with our mock exam courses, then click here: GAMSAT Preparation Courses The preceding link also provides information regarding how to prepare for class, what you should bring to class, and a description of the founding principle of all Gold Standard GAMSAT content: problem-based learning.

Learn from our Experience

Our Section 3 (science) GAMSAT course is taught by Dr. Ferdinand who is the author of the Gold Standard GAMSAT textbooks; has nine years of experience teaching GAMSAT courses; and he produced more than 100 GAMSAT YouTube videos with step-by-step worked solutions for the official GAMSAT practice materials (published by ACER). Join us for problem-based learning with an experienced GAMSAT expert.

Locations: Seminars are held on the following campuses: UQ Sport Centre (within the University of Queensland), St Andrew’s College at the University of Sydney, The Royal Melbourne Hospital and University College at the University of Melbourne, Lincoln College at the University of Adelaide, University Hall at the University of Western Australia (Crawley Campus), Imperial College London and National College of Ireland.

Besides the course syllabus and schedule, Dr. Ferdinand will have small group sessions organised before class or lunch or after class so that he can be available for further discussions. Students will be assigned which small group they are in on the morning of the first day. Printing of practice problem sets is included in course tuition. Small class sizes are assured in Adelaide. Please note: bring your ACER GAMSAT practice booklets (or e-book access with your electronic device or print-out) so that if time permits, worked solutions can be presented in class.

GAMSAT Course Syllabus

The following topic list (syllabus) is meant to be comprehensive but not exhaustive nor definitive. Consider it a guideline for topics that we are expected to cover as a result of stimulus material reviewed in class and course materials. You may also use the following GAMSAT science syllabus as a guide if you are pursuing self-directed learning. All of our courses and materials, including the Gold Standard GAMSAT textbooks, follow the natural flow to learn GAMSAT science which is the following order: GAMSAT Math (basic algebra), Physics, General then Organic Chemistry, and ultimately, Biology. Also note that a key GAMSAT skill is the analysis and interpretation of graphs, diagrams and tables, which is an integral part of our courses and videos.

PHYSICS - Scalars and Vectors, Force and Motion, Displacement/Time/Acceleration Graphs, Weight and Units (SI System), Friction, Applying Newton's Laws, Trigonometry, Projectile Motion, Work, Circular Motion, Work-Energy Theorem, Energy and Entropy, Momentum, Law of Torques, Fluids, Fluids in Motion, Archimedes' Principle, The Atom, Nuclear Reactions, Radioactive Decay and Half-Life, Electricity vs. Gravity, Electric Circuits, Kirchoff's Laws, Characteristics of Waves, Diffraction, Optics, Sound, Doppler Effect, Electromagnetism, Electromagnetic Spectrum, Reflection, Refraction, Thin Lens, Snell's Law, The Critical Angle
