Calculation for 8.5.1

Hi ,

Please could you show how we get to 17.9m/s for vs question 8.5.1

vs=-262(331+0)/277 + 331 , I am rather loss and my calculation somehow repeatedly becomes 3.76m/s

Vs = -262(331+0)/277 + 331
Vs = -262(331)/277 + 331
Vs = -262(331)/277 + 331
Vs = - 86 722/277 + 331
Vs = -313.1 + 331
Vs = 331 - 313.1
Vs = 17.9
