Hi, I just wanted to clarify gametogenesis.

Is it that after the first phase this is the reduction phase so it goes from 2N to N. So when prophase II begins they have N cells? But if these divide further which happens surely that creates cell with less than N or N just stays the same?

"So when prophase II begins they have N cells?"
- Yes.

"But if these divide further which happens surely that creates cell with less than N or N just stays the same?"
- They do not "divide further", rather, they replicate (duplicate). It would not be a normal part of gametogenesis to produce cells with less that N chromosomes.

This is regarding Biology Chapter 14 Worked Solution for Q6 (BIO-260):

1L = 10 decilitres so I believe you have a small typo in worked solutions.
